"May God the Father, who by Baptism adopts us as his children, grant you grace."
Baptism is the outward and visible sign of our marking as a member of Christ's family. It is our promise as parents to bring our children up in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord." It is also our opportunity and privilege as Christians to witness these vows taken by parents for their young ones or by adults as they publicly profess their faith. Baptism is a covenant with the community of St. Stephen's promising to support these individuals in their new life in Christ. It is a sacrament of highest order and one that remains with us throughout our lifetime in the church.
