Music is an important part of worship with St. Stephen’s—helping us pray, celebrate, reflect and experience our life together in ways that words alone cannot. Our parish has a long and rich musical tradition, embracing music from many styles, periods and traditions.
That tradition comes to life through the many musicians who share their gifts with our community. Whether you sing, ring or play an instrument, there is a place for you in Music Ministry with St. Stephen’s. We welcome musicians of different ages and levels of experience, with opportunities to make music together throughout the program year.
PARISH CHOIR (Sept-May)
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 PM
The Parish Choir helps lead our worship through music on Sundays and at special services throughout the year. Open to high school students and adults, the choir welcomes singers with a range of musical and choral experience.
The choir sings music spanning centuries and styles—from the great works of the classical tradition to contemporary composers and new expressions of sacred music. New singers are always welcome.

CREEKSIDE RINGERS (Sept-May)
Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 6:30-8:00 PM
Creekside Ringers brings the distinctive sound and energy of handbells to worship, ringing about once a month during the program year as well as for special services and celebrations.
The ensemble welcomes adults and students with at least a middle school-level music background—and you don’t need previous handbell experience to join. Creekside Ringers is a group that loves introducing new people to handbells and helping them learn how to ring as part of an ensemble.
Whether you’re an experienced ringer or ready to pick up a handbell for the first time, you’ll find a welcoming place to learn, make music and have fun together.

INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE (Sept-May)
Our Instrumental Ensemble brings together youth and adults to share their musical gifts in worship several times throughout the year. Woodwind, brass, string and percussion players with at least a middle school-level music background are welcome.
With musicians of different ages playing side by side, the ensemble is an especially fun, intergenerational way to make music with St. Stephen’s. The ensemble is also often joined by guest professional musicians, giving parish musicians the opportunity to play alongside accomplished performers as part of our worship.
Rehearsals are scheduled periodically in preparation for upcoming worship opportunities.
