Families at Worship
Bringing children to worship may not always be easy; but it is an important part of their spiritual growth. Relax! God put the “wiggle” in children. Don’t feel you have to suppress it in God’s house.
† When you enter worship and greet others be sure to introduce yourself and your family.
† Sit towards the front where it’s easier to see.
† Explain quietly the parts of the service.
† Sing the hymns, pray, voice the responses. Children learn liturgical behavior by copying yours.
† Help your child further participate by giving their own offering, no matter how small.
† Feel free to respond to the needs of your child. The restrooms are located through the side aisle door. The nursery is also located in this hallway for children birth to 3 ½ yrs.
† Encourage your children to use the worship bags that are available at the entrances.
† Answer questions in a “quiet whisper”. Remind your children ahead of time that “we whisper in church”.
Always remember that the way we welcome children in church directly affects the way they respond to church, God and Christ. Let them know that they are at home in this liturgy of praise and thanksgiving.
