Taizé, while authentically and deeply rooted in the Christian faith, is a different kind of worship. Lasting just 50 minutes, most of the Taizé service is chanted, using Taizé music as written and published by the  Taizé Community in France. The readings and meditations are authentic to the day, sent directly to us by e-mail from France.
The order of service is: Opening chants, a psalm, a reading and meditation, a very long silence, sung prayers, and a closing chant. The service is lit primarily by candlelight and is arranged to accommodate those who prefer to sit on floor pillows. Plan now to make this first-Friday observance a part of your spiritual life.
This service is offered in the Chapel. As with all worship in our community, you do not need to be a member of St. Stephen's to attend.
